Raised in a small town in So. California with a rural atmosphere, Sonia could always be found hiking in the mountains, riding horses, climbing trees or just laying in the grass contemplating nature. Her father had a strong emphasis on studying and learning, particularly in the context of history, disapproving of “wasting time reading nonsense”, which progressed into Sonia searching out topics of non-fiction. This mindset led to frequent trips to the library to pick out subjects she was curious about and lots of time devoted to reading. As a voice actor and audiobook narrator, Sonia brings care and professionalism to each project and dedication, efficiency, and commitment to delivering projects promptly. Sonia’s voice has been described as easy to listen to, melodious, smooth, animated, and grounded.
Her challenges in life and navigating difficult situations shaped her into a cheerful and optimistic, yet realistic person with a tough mentality. She has learned strength and resilience and an ability to find the silver lining in every experience, while viewing setbacks as opportunities for personal growth. She prides herself on navigating life with perseverance and faces life’s disappointments head-on. The wisdom gained from these experiences adds depth and authenticity to her audiobook narration. Sonia’s warm and empathetic tone makes her well-suited for narrating non-fiction and memoirs, empowering self-help and spiritual growth books, as well as books dealing with overcoming grief and hardship. But her party-girl, playful side lends itself to narrating all genres of fiction as well. When she’s not behind the mic, her love of nature takes her outdoors hiking and biking in the beautiful suburbs of Philly, or learning a new classical piece on the piano. Sonia believes her background in classical piano and the cognitive benefits of musical training contribute to her discipline and tenacity as a voiceover artist.
